Mudgee Public School deserves a standing ovation for the way it champions inclusive education . Their commitment to supporting students with diverse abilities is not just admirable its transformative. The school currently runs seven dedicated support classes including six Multicategorical MC and one Mild Intellectual Disability class each tailored to meet a wide range of learning needs such as intellectual and physical disabilities autism and mental health conditions. These classes are staffed with full-time teachers and Student Learning Support Officers ensuring every student receives personalised targeted programs developed in collaboration with families therapists and Department of Education staff. Beyond the classroom Mudgee Public School fosters a culture of belonging. Their Inclusive Learning Support hub offers resources for families navigating additional needs and their podcast The Inclusive Classroom hosted by Principal John Carters and Deputy Principal Toni Tiffen dives deep into strategies and stories that celebrate inclusive practices in rural education settings. Its clear that at Mudgee Public School inclusion isnt just a policy its a passion. Every student is seen supported and empowered to thrive.
