About the Competition


Competition Task:
Students can work individually or as a whole school project. In the individual category, if more than one individual is involved in the production of the video then the prize money will be divided amongst those who produced the winning video.

Students are to produce a video (5 minutes maximum length) which will raise awareness of the ability of people who have a disability. The underlying theme of your entry should be Focus on DisABILTY. NOVA Employment and Training Program Inc. reserves the right to exclude any entry they consider inappropriate. This may include any video that in NOVA Employment and Training’s opinion contains racist, sexist, violent, discriminatory or other material likely to offend community standards.

All videos matching the entry criteria and received by the last mail 30th June, 2010, will be made available for viewing on this website. Viewers will have the opportunity to vote on line for their favourite video.

Entrants are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Original music and lyrics may be used. Entrants are responsible for the cost of production and submission.

Judging Criteria:
  • Videos received by last mail 30th June, 2010, will be uploaded to this website on the 12th July, 2010.
  • Viewers will have the opportunity to vote on-line for their favourite video through this website.
  • Each voter will be entitled to one vote.
  • The video that receives the most on-line votes in each category by the close of the competition, midnight 30th July, 2010, will be declared the winner. NOVA Employment and Training's decision as to the winners is final and conclusive.
  • The video that receives the second highest on-line votes in each category before the close of the competition will be declared 'runner-up'. NOVA Employment and Training's decision as to the runners up is final and conclusive.
  • Ten voters chosen at random will receive an Apple Ipod. NOVA Employment and Training's decision as to the randomly chosen voters is final and conclusive.
  • NOVA Employment and Training Program Inc. reserves the right to exclude any entry they consider inappropriate. This may include any video that in NOVA Employment and Training’s opinion contains racist, sexist, violent, discriminatory or otherwise likely to offend community standards.

Each entry to be supplied on a DVD. Entry to this competition is FREE. Entries will become the property of NOVA Employment and Training and may be used for promotion or loaded onto relevant websites . This license is given by entrants in return for NOVA Employment and Training Program Inc. including their entry in this competition.
